Place a Book on Hold
Do you want to be the “next in line” to borrow a book that is checked out? Can’t make it to the library right away but want to ensure a book will be held for you? You may place holds on books you would like to borrow!
How do I place a hold?
Hold requests can be made by telephone, email or in person at the Library during regular library hours. Before requesting a hold, please check the Library Catalogue to be sure that you know the call number, author, and title.
Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and be sure to include both your student number and the complete call number of items to be placed on hold.
Call us at (519) 452-4236
See us in person at the Access Services desk
*Please note that Course Reserve materials cannot be placed on hold.
Notification & pickup
- You will receive and automated email when your item is available for pickup (Please make sure your email address in WebAdvisor is up to date).
- Come to the Access Services desk with your FANcard to pick up your hold.
- If an item is not picked up within 5 days of notification, the hold will be released back into the stacks or move on to the next hold request
