How to Use the Button Maker

  • Button sizing template for 1" and 2.25" buttonsEnsure your image fits to desired button size template.
  • The solid line represents the cut line, and the dashed line represents the actual image size.
  • If the button is intended to be a solid colour, bleed colour to cut line.
  • Scale to 100% when printing.

  1. Identify the pickup die (A) and the crimp die (B).
  2. Rotate the die table so that the crimp die (B) is positioned under the upper die.
  3. Insert a shell into the pickup die (A) with the sharp edge facing downward. Place the graphic on the shell. Place the mylar on top of the graphic, ensure only one shell and only one mylar is used. Line up the top of the graphic with the center column for correct orientation.
    4. Rotate the die table one-half turn counterclockwise until the pick up die (A) stop is against the upper die stop.
    5. Pull the handle down as far as it will go and raise it back up to its rest position.
    6. Place a pinned back into the crimp die (B) with the sharp edge facing up. Line up the top of the pinned back horizontal to the center column for correct orientation.
    7. Rotate the die table one-half turn clockwise until the crimp die (B) stop is against the upper die stop.
    8. Pull the handle down as far as it will go and raise it back up to its rest position.
    9. Rotate the die table counterclockwise again to remove the finished button.
