Before Your Course Starts…

  • Cite the images that have been incorporated into Presentation Slides and Digital Handouts.
  • Make sure that Digital Handouts adhere to the Fair Dealing Guidelines (single chapter/article/portion up to 10% of a copyright-protected work + citation) OR submit Digital Handouts through the Copyright Management System.
  • Seek permission for Digital Handouts that exceed the Fair Dealing Guidelines (multiple chapters/articles/ portions in excess of 10% of a copyright protected work) OR submit Digital Handouts through the Copyright Management System.
  • Make sure that Publisher-Issued Presentation Slides match the textbook being used (same title, edition, publisher).
  • Seek permission to upload Publisher-Issued Presentation Slides that do not match the textbook being used (different title, edition, publisher).
  • Make sure that reproduced Publicly Available Online Content does not infringe copyright and is properly cited OR submit through the Copyright Management System.
  • Link to publicly available online content that does not infringe copyright.
  • Provide students with Persistent Links to content from library e-resources.
