Open Educational Resourses (OER) Benefit Everyone
Open Educational Resources (OERs) provide an affordable and accessible alternative to traditional educational materials, including textbooks. Utilizing an OER is one way we develop Zero Textbook Cost (ZTC) courses.
Fanshawe Faculty?
If your goal is to reduce or remove course material costs, your first step would be a ZTC/OER Scan. If an open educational resource needs to be adapted or created, you will be connected with the OER Design Studio during the process.
What are OERs?
Open Educational Resources (OERs) are teaching and learning materials that are provided openly and without cost to students.
Why OER Matters
The high cost of textbooks can cause financial hardship for students. OERs provide a low or no-cost solution to expensive textbooks.
